8 Wellness Habits You Need to Start
One way to live a life with more wellness is by adopting wellness habits into your daily routine.
Having these habits can help build a more healthier lifestyle.
These are the top 8 wellness habits I would recommend anyone to start if they are their own wellness journey.
1. Wake Up Earlier (Ideally 6 am)
Everyone knows waking up and starting your day off right is a habit that can impact your daily life.
If you sleep in, you may feel groggy or that the day is going by too quickly.
This is how I felt until I ended up slowly starting to wake up earlier, day by day.
This was the start of my wellness journey as it had the biggest impact on me.
Wake Up Light Sunrise Alarm Clock
This clock has been a blessing for me when it comes to my mornings. Previously, I found it difficult to wake up before sunrise and I would often feel groggy and drained.
Now, I set this clock to light up about 10 minutes before my alarm and when I open my eyes, I am met with a warm, comforting light. I can even adjust the brightness and color of the light which is really nice.
2. Drink enough water (1 gallon a day)
Being hydrated is something I personally strive for; it helps to promote alertness, radiance, and digestion.
I'd suggest getting a bottle that has a timescale on it to help ensure you're drinking enough water throughout the day. It helps you drink water and is aesthetic as well!
Motivation Water Bottle
I've been trying different water bottles to be sure I drink enough water each day. Having hourly visual markers to track how much I drink has been really helpful.
It's sturdy, easy to clean, and comfortable to hold. I fill it up twice a day to make sure I'm getting my minimum ounces of water.
It's also very stylish, and people often compliment me on it.
3. Get in movement every day (30min)
This is a habit most people struggle with and I like to combine this with habit #4 of hitting 10k steps a day.
I like to do some sort movement, whether that is taking the dog out for a walk or doing a dance class, even going grocery shopping.
I love to have some sort of movement every day.
WodoWei Women 2 Piece Workout Outfits
I absolutely love this set - the leggings are my favorite part. It's exactly as pictured and perfect for working out or just everyday wear. I highly recommend it! I got a small and it fits perfectly.
4. Hit 10k steps a day
I have noticed a trend on Tiktok called “hot girl walks”.
I have never been someone who likes walking, however over the summer I was going on 1 hour walks during my lunch break around my neighbourhood.
I instantly felt better after and it was great way to get exercise in without doing a workout.
5. Nourish your body with whole foods
There is a cliche saying, food is fuel.
This is definitely the case and I know for myself when I eat healthier I feel more energized and better.
I would recommend everyone try to eat more whole foods and you will instantly feel a difference in how you feeling and specifically your energy.
6. Get enough sleep (8hrs)
This is definitely the hardest one for me.
I always struggle to sleep enough as I am so busy with school, work, and running this business.
I feel like I am always sacrificing my sleep but I suggest taking the time to put fewer things on your plate and go to sleep earlier until it becomes a habit.
I know if I don’t get enough sleep I always feel worse.
Muse Bath Apothecary Pillow Ritual Mist
I love this spray! It helps me sleep better, and the lavender smell is very calming and pleasant. There are also hints of mint and vanilla, which make it even more relaxing.
I spray it on my pillow every night. I would definitely recommend it to others.
7. Read 1 chapter of a book a day
I noticed that there has been a huge trend with reading over the past 2 years since the pandemic.
I had always loved reading as a child and in middle school, however in high school, I fell about it.
I refound my love for reading and instead of going on my phone before I fall asleep, I read a chapter or two of my fiction at the moment.
I have been loving romance by Emily Henry at the moment!
Book Lovers - Emily Henry
This book was really enjoyable. I laughed a lot reading it, and it made me feel lots of different emotions.
I didn't want to put it down because I was so invested in the story. The characters were great, and it such a great romance.
8. Do my Morning quiet time (meditate, journal, card pull)
Having a good morning routine is essential to having a good day.
I love spending my days by myself in the morning and spending it in quiet time by either meditating, journaling or using my tarot cards.
That wraps up this blog post, in the comments leave your favourite tip!
Intelligent Change - The Five Minute Journal
I've been using this journal every day, and it's really helped me to stay positive and grateful. I find myself becoming more mindful and having a better outlook on life. I'm planning to buy one for each member of my family for Christmas. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!
